What is the Collection Level formula in Clash Royale?

Collection Level = sum of every card level you own + 5 per Evolution form unlocked + 5 per Hero form unlocked. Every card upgrade grants +1 Collection Level regardless of rarity. Heroes and Evolutions are weighted more heavily because they represent larger milestones.

When does the Collection Level system launch?

The May 26, 2026 Q2 update introduces Collection Levels, completely replacing King's Journey. Rewards begin at Collection Level 20 and arrive every 10 Levels through Level 1,500, then every 5 Levels above 1,500.

How accurate is this calculator?

The card-level sum and Evolution count are fetched directly from the live Clash Royale API for your player tag. Hero ownership is not cleanly exposed in the public API, so the calculator defaults to 0 Heroes — adjust the slider to match your actual Hero ownership. The calculator is marked Beta until 48 hours after the May 26 patch lands and we validate against in-game values.

What is the transition gem reward?

When the patch downloads on May 26, every account receives a one-time transition reward based on their starting Collection Level. The reward scales from 500 gems (new players) up to 5,000 gems (maxed accounts). The calculator estimates your transition tier based on the published ranges.

What happens to King's Journey rewards?

Unclaimed King's Journey rewards are delivered automatically via a login pop-up on May 26. King Tower levels never decrease — they're preserved at their current state. After the patch, King Tower upgrades are triggered by card upgrade counts rather than XP.

Should I upgrade cards before May 26?

Generally hold upgrades if you're close to a Collection Level reward tier (within 2-3 upgrades of Levels 20, 30, 40, etc.). Always hold Evolution Shards and Hero unlock tokens — each is worth +5 Collection Levels post-patch. Upgrade now only if the card is mission-critical for your current ladder push.
