- How does the new King Tower Level system work in Clash Royale?
- Starting May 26, 2026, your King Tower Level is determined by how many cards you have upgraded to a given level. King Tower 2 requires 9 cards at Level 1+; King Tower 7 requires 10 cards at Level 6+; King Tower 16 requires 14 cards at Level 15+. Your King Tower Level can never decrease — it only stays the same or rises.
- What are the King Tower Level requirements for the May 2026 update?
- King Tower 2 needs 9 cards at Level 1+; KT 3 needs 9 at Level 2+; KT 4-11 each need 10 cards at the matching level threshold (3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10); KT 12-13 need 11 cards at Levels 11-12; KT 14 needs 12 at Level 13; KT 15 needs 13 at Level 14; KT 16 needs 14 cards at Level 15+. Tower Troops do not count.
- Will my King Tower Level go down with the May 2026 update?
- No. Per Supercell's official announcement, your King Tower Level can only stay the same or rise with the new system. If your current King Tower Level was unlocked under the old XP-based King's Journey, it carries forward, and any additional card-level requirements you meet may immediately push you higher.
- Do Tower Troops count toward the King Tower Level requirements?
- No. Tower Troops (Cannoneer, Dagger Duchess, Tower Princess, Royal Chef, Skeleton King) do not count toward the King Tower Level requirement. When your King Tower Level upgrades, you automatically receive a full upgrade's worth of Tower Princess cards and Gold to upgrade your active Tower Troop to match.
