Setting up the Discord bot

Add the TrophyCoach bot to your server, then link your account with /link so the bot knows who you are.

Setting up the TrophyCoach Discord bot takes two steps: add the bot to your server, then link your TrophyCoach account with the /link command so the bot knows which player and clan you are.

What do I need before I start?

  • An active Clan Membership (or a seat on your clan's license). See What is Clan Membership?.
  • A TrophyCoach account with your player tag saved.
  • Permission to add a bot to your Discord server (for the first step only).

How do I add the bot to my server?

A server admin adds the TrophyCoach bot (it may still appear as ClashCoachAI in Discord while the rebrand rolls out) once, from the invite link on the Clan dashboard. After it's in the server, every member uses the slash commands directly — they don't each need to add it.

In any channel where the bot is present, run:

/link

The bot replies with a one-time link that opens a Connect Discord page. That page shows the account you're signed in as (by email) and whether it holds a clan seat, then confirms the connection. Linking ties your Discord user to your TrophyCoach account so gated commands know it's you.

How do I make sure I'm linking the right account?

The Connect Discord page shows the email of the signed-in TrophyCoach account and a clan-seat status (✓ or ⚠). If it's the wrong account, use the Switch account option on that page to log out and sign in with the right one before confirming.

This matters because a player tag is free text anyone can type — the bot identifies you by your linked account, not by your tag.

Frequently asked questions

The slash commands don't appear in Discord. Why?

Slash commands can take a short time to show up after the bot is added, and they only appear in servers where the bot is present. Try fully closing and reopening Discord. If they still don't appear, an admin may need to re-add the bot.

You linked successfully, but the linked account doesn't hold an active clan seat. Confirm you're linked to the account that owns or holds a seat on the license — see Troubleshooting.

Do I need to give the bot my Clash Royale login?

No. The bot never asks for your Supercell login — it uses your public player tag and your TrophyCoach account only.

Each TrophyCoach account links to one Discord user. To move the link, run /link again from the correct account.
